Mark Bennett
A Michigan native and U.S. Army Veteran, CPDT-KA, and American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator Mark Bennett has been professionally training dogs since 2017. Mark has been featured on WMYD-TV20 Celebrate Michigan for dog training, and has an extensive background working with our four legged friends.
Mark began his journey working at a dog daycare/boarding facility being exposed to roughly 60-70 different dogs of varying breeds, shapes, and sizes daily. This experience gave him exposure to a wide variety of behaviors, temperaments, and a solid foundation of pack mentality and social interactions between dogs.
Shortly after Mark began to study under well established local trainer Donna Fournier through her company Service Paws by Donna. There he learned how to train basic obedience and behavioral modification while attending an average of 7-15 different sessions each week. This gave him hands on experience through careful and thorough guidance.
From 2018-2019 Mark worked as a trainer for Stiggy's Dogs, a 501(c)(3) organization founded by Jennifer Petre that rescues and trains shelter dogs to be psychiatric service dogs for military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). During his time there Mark also trained therapy dogs for mental health patients and prison hospice programs taking great pride in giving back to fellow veterans in need, inmates seeking their own way to give back, and saving the lives of wonderful rescue dogs.
He now continues to improve upon realistic and balanced training in order to provide assistance to all dog owners while overseeing daily business operations and oversee training at Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit where he helps shelter dogs overcome struggles and present better for adopters. He currently teaches group classes at 4 Seasons Pet Resort in Livonia while continuing to improve his education and skill set through certifications such as Pet CPR and First Aid.
